Dance: The Heber Springs Folklore Society will hold a dance today and Saturday from 7-9:30 p.m. at 810 Wilburn Road in Heber Springs. All proceeds go toward the society that serves Cleburne and White counties.

Fundraiser sale: The Bald Knob Senior Citizen Center, 400 E. 4th St. in Bald Knob, will hold an inside yard sale fundraiser today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday through Aug. 18.

Assistance: CAPCA in partnership with Entergy is hosting a "Beat the Heat Fan Program," offering 27 box fans to those eligible in White County. Eligible households must be at 150 percent of the federal poverty income guidelines or without a working air conditioning unit to qualify. Applicants may visit the White County Support Office, 1132 Benton in Searcy, to apply for a fan; first come, first served.

Program: The Searcy Public Library will host a special educational program about the Great Solar Eclipse 2017 led by special guest Carl Freyaldenhoven of Little Rock on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the children's room. Pancake breakfast: The McRae Masonic Lodge No. 687 will hold a pancake breakfast Saturday from 7-9 a.m. Donations accepted. For more information, call (501) 882-3472.

Village tours: Pioneer Village will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers will give tours of the buildings and grounds while sharing the history of White County. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Call ahead in the event of rain. For more information, call (501) 580-6633.

Museum: The Pangburn Museum on Searcy Street will be open Saturday from 1-3 p.m. There is a display of Pangburn's history with photographs, letters and various artifacts from the early 20th century. No admission charge. For more information, call (501) 728-3513.

Meeting: The White County Beekeepers Association will meet Monday at the Downtown Church of Christ Auditorium, 900 N. Main St. at 6 p.m. The group meets the second Monday each month. Refreshments are served.

Dance: The Heber Springs Folk Lore Society will host a dance Monday at the society's building, 890 Wilburn Road, from 7-9:30 p.m. Donations go toward scholarships open to local high school students. The society serves Cleburne County and surrounding counties including White County.

Scholarship deadline: The deadline for applying for White County Single Parent Scholarship Fund Inc. fall, 2017 scholarships is Tuesday. Scholarships are awarded to White County single parents of minor children who are pursuing post-secondary education in order to achieve skilled employment.
